Overview
Nestled in the mountains of Chattahoochee National Forest, Nottely Reservoir lies in the state of Georgia on the southeastern edge of the Tennessee River watershed. Twenty miles long with 4,180 surface aces at normal summer elevations, this mountain lake is known for its deep, clear water perfect for jet skiing and boating. Construction of Nottely Dam began in 1941 and ended the following year, with the dam ultimately stretching 184 feet high. With a flood storage capacity of 100,000 acre-feet, Lake Nottely is a place important for both infrastructural and recreational reasons.
